Wentworth encourages community involvement, especially through the Center for Community and Learning Partnerships. Through that office, I work as the Community Work Study Coordinator. As a coordinator, I am the liaison between Wentworth and the community partners in the Boston area. Additionally, I recruit current Wentworth students to work with community partners for work study jobs. As an administrative aspect to the job, I am responsible for submitting, logging, and filing work study students’ bi-weekly time sheets. I also conduct site visits where I visit the community partners’ offices to watch the community work study students in action at their work study job. Site visits give me a chance to meet the community work student students, as well as learn more about what they do at their job, and how the job site operates as a whole. As the Community Work Study Coordinator, I gained useful management skills, and learned about the administrative work that goes into a work study program.
